DKMS X THE COUNCIL OF BENS

In August of 2024 we linked with DKMS Charity to help a Ben in need!
The Backstory:
Ben Collins' Auntie reached out to The Council of Bens to inform us of a Ben in need-
At just 24, Ben was diagnosed with leukaemia. After months of chemotherapy, he urgently needed a stem cell donor to save his life.
Unfortunately, at the time there was no match on the Stem Cell Register for Ben.
We immediately got in touch with DKMS to see if there was anything we could do to support Ben and his family, making it our mission to help!
The Plan:
After some backwards and forwards we had a plan- To gather as many Bens and Friends in front of the biggest of Bens and sign as many people up to the stem cell register as possible!
Over 30 Bens rallied together to show support, of which 20+ Registered on the day!
We partied down the thames carrying a DJ setup, chanting Ben and carrying Boards that read "Bens Against Blood Cancer".
To spread the word of the day further we made several videos of the campaign and shared them to our social media platforms.
The videos reached over 1 Million People in total!
From this our total sign ups was close to 50 Bens and Friends!

Still to this day we shout from the roof tops the great work that is done at DKMS and have so far signed up nearly 50 Bens and Friends onto the UK Stem Cell Register- of which we know of 2 being called up to help save lives!
